Xiaomi Mi Max 3 came out in 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box but users have been waiting for the MIUI 12 update.

It has been over five months and Xiaomi is still providing MIUI 12 to its eligible devices and it seems that the wait is finally over for the Mi Max 3.

The latest custom skin is now rolling out to the global and Russian Mi Max 3 variants after months of wait.

While the MIUI 12 update for both variants is live over the air, those who want to install the update manually can grab it from the link given below.

Here’s the common changelog followed by the download link. Also, be sure to check out these workarounds in case you come across any errors while installing the update manually.

It must be noted that the OEM released the last MIUI 12 beta update for the Mi Max 3 and a bunch of other Xiaomi devices back in September.

Considering that the Chinese Mi Max 3 variant also bagged the stable update in August, it took quite some time for the global and Russian variants to grab the same.

This update comes as good news for users of the Mi Max 3 as it has been a long time since the OEM started rolling out its latest custom UI.

Xiaomi appears to be on track so far and it seems that all remaining devices might get the MIUI 12 update by October-end.

Nevertheless, one can never be certain about software update schedules as they are always subject to change.

That said, we will keep tracking the development of MIUI 12 and will provide more details once new information becomes available.

In the meantime, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker to get the latest updates on the topic.
