Microsoft Flight Simulator is an iconic simulator saga that has been present in the industry for almost 4 decades. Its most recent installment is available for Xbox consoles (Series X/S) and Windows OS devices.

You can also play Microsoft Flight Simulator through the Cloud Gaming version. This is useful if you don’t have an Xbox console and if your PC hardware doesn’t meet the requirements of the game, depending only on your internet speed.

However, some players are facing issues with the Microsoft Flight Simulator Cloud Gaming version while trying to use an Xbox controller. It seems that navigating through the game menus becomes very difficult.

Microsoft Flight Simulator Xbox controller not working correctly on Cloud version

According to multiple reports, some players are unable to navigate through the Microsoft Flight Simulator menus using an Xbox controller if they are running the Cloud Gaming version.

The issue causes players to be unable to highlight or select any options in game menus. Also, the sticks don’t work properly (1, 2).

Navigating the menus becomes so troublesome that some players even search for documentation on how the controller works.

MSFS team is already aware, potential workaround

The MSFS support team is already aware of the glitch. They also confirm that it happens when the player makes changes to the Xbox controller keybinds.

The company has suggested a potential workaround to mitigate the issue. It consists of launching the original version of the game (not Cloud), installing and resetting the controller profile to default, exiting the game and re-launching the Cloud version.

This issue arises if you are an existing MSFS player on PC or Xbox Series X|S and have made changes to the keybinds for the Xbox controller. (1/3) Source

The developers also confirm that they are working on a fix so that everything works correctly without the need for the workaround.
