New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on January 07, 2021) follows:
Some time ago, Motorola announced that they will be updating their devices to Android 12 based on My UX 3.0. Many were excited about the features the new version of Motorola’s Android skin would bring.
But a Motorola Forum Administrator recently hinted that the Android 12 won’t be bringing features such as ‘Ready For’, RGB light notification, Dolby Atmos, Adaptive sound, AoD and HDR 10+ enhancements.
Nonetheless, many were looking forward to joining the Motorola Feedback Network to get their hands on the latest Android 12 builds for their device.
But some users who enrolled in the MFN are now saying that they haven’t received any information or update regarding the beta testing.
In a blog, the company said that Android 12 was undergoing beta testing for those who enrolled in the Motorola Feedback Network and that they will be rolling out Android 12 sometime in February 2022.
Now some users are wondering if Motorola is actually making the Android 12 builds available for those who are a part of the MFN.
As it turns out, the beta builds might not be available for every device. Here’s is what the Forum Administrator had to say when a user asked when their phone will be getting Android 12 Beta.
Moreover, a Moto Agent further clarified that not everyone who applies is eligible for the testing process.
The above reasons might explain why some users who are already a part of MFN did not get access to Android 12 closed beta builds.
Also, a few days ago, images of My UX 3.0 has surfaced on Twitter, indicating that the developers had indeed started working on Android 12. Maybe Motorola is already done with the beta testing and MFN recruitment process.
Whatever the case might be, we will be keeping an eye out for new information from Motorola and update this space as and when required so stay tuned for updates.
Update 1 (January 15)
04:20 pm (IST): A Motorola admin confirmed that the Android 12 MFN testing is currently underway for Edge 20 in Brazil only. Therefore, users in other regions may have to wait for the testing to open up in their country.
Further, since the MFN testing has been underway for a couple of months already. We should expect to see the soak test kick-start sometime soon.
