On Sunday, actor Ghanshyam Nayak died. He was well known for his role as Nattu Kaka in the famous sitcom Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. He was battling cancer at the time.Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, tweeted, “Hamare pyaare #Natukaka @TMKOC NTF hamare saath nahi rahe (Our dear Nattu Kaka is no longer).” Asit also expressed his condolences to Ghanshyam’s family and expressed his hope that Nattu Kaka’s memory will live on.
Malav Rajda, the director of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, offered a heartfelt homage to Ghanshyam. “Ghanshyam bhai, I’ve known you since I was a child when you used to do plays with my father…loved you then and still love you now…and you will always be loved by everyone who knew you…still haven’t come across such a jovial, lovable, and selfless man like you…thank you for always showering your love and blessings on me…you will be really missed…love you natu kaka,”
“I got the news first when his son phoned me around 5:45 pm,” Tanmay Vekeria, who portrays Bagga in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, told a prominent daily. His condition hasn’t improved since he was admitted to the hospital a few months ago. At 5:30 p.m. today, he died away. He was a diamond, and he was the one that was closest to me. He tried his hardest to work with us again, but his health prevented him. I’m heartbroken that he’s passed away.”
