In the most recent “revelation,” Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik stated on Monday that Sameer Wankhede, the sister-in-law of the Narcotics Control Bureau zonal director, is facing a narcotics prosecution in a Pune court. Malik took to Twitter to address the NCB chief as ‘Sameer Dawood Wankhede,’ and demanded for his resignation “Is Harshada Dinanath Redkar, your sister-in-law, participating in the narcotics trade? Because her lawsuit is pending in the Pune court, you must respond.” The minister, who is frequently asked to provide “evidence” for his various charges, uploaded a screenshot of the purported case with the caption, “Here is the proof.”

In a statement to the news agency, Sameer Wankhede responded to the claims, saying, “When the case occurred in January 2008, I was not even in service. So, since I married Kranti Redkar in 2017, how am I connected to the case?”
Malik told reporters that Mohit Bharatiya, the former president of the Mumbai BJP’s youth branch, was the “mastermind” of the plot. He also said that a payment of Rs 25 crore was requested, but that the deal was settled for Rs 18 crore and a sum of Rs 50 lakh was delivered. However, the arrangement was ruined when NCB witness K P Gosavi shared a selfie with Aryan Khan following his detention.
