Google Nest Wifi Pro claims to support Wi-Fi 6E which is designed to make it possible to connect quickly to the internet and to your home network.
It is relativity cheaper than its predecessor, claims to bring faster speeds, and improved reliability. Moreover, it’s easy to use and set up with no subscription fees.
Nest Wifi Pro slow internet speeds issue
However, it seems that the issues related to the slow internet speed have surfaced for some Nest Wifi Pro users (1,2,3,4,5,6). It’s surprising because it continues to trouble a number of users despite Google fixing it.
Users are claiming that after switching to Nest Wifi Pro, their download speeds are tremendously lower. Whereas their prior router readily provided far greater speeds.
Additionally, users are also discovering that their devices are even getting disconnected randomly (1,2,3,4).
This is incredibly frustrating as even after trying some of the troubleshooting steps, the problem persists for some users.
What’s the status of the issue?
Even though the reports about decreased internet speed started pouring in right after the launch of the Nest Wifi Pro, Google was reportedly quick to recognize the problem and even corrected it a few weeks later.
Unfortunately, reports seemingly haven’t stopped coming in even after Google dropped a Nest Wifi Pro update to fix the slow internet speeds bug.
It’ll be interesting to note what steps will be taken by Google now to fix this issue permanently. Granted, we’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update this article accordingly.
