The eagerly awaited season 2 of the 1899 series is now not going to be released on Netflix disappointing its fans who were eagerly waiting for it. This news came out after the 1899 series creators Baran Bo Odar and Jantje Friese released a post on Instagram.
In the post, they stated “They wished to continue the series with its 2nd and 3rd season just like Dark. However, disappointing the fans they won’t be able to move further with the idea due to some issues” Along with this, they also thanked the viewers for giving so much love to the series.
The 1899 series came out on Netflix last year on 17th November. It is a story that revolves around the people on the steamship traveling from the old continent to the new. People of different origins come together and are bound by their aspirations for the twenty-first century and their futures overseas. When their ship gets lost, they encounter terrifying nightmares. The series starred Emily Beecham, Aneurin Barnard, Andreas Pietschmann, and Miguel Bernardeau.
To shoot the 1899 series a fresh cutting-edge virtual production stage was constructed in Babelsberg Studios in Germany which was one of the biggest facility in Europe.
