What Was The Abusive Language Used In New World?
Part of the difficulty in deciding what language Dyrus might have used in order to get banned is that games have different standards for what constitutes a ban of any kind. The other factor in trying to sleuth out why the Twitch streamer was booted from New World is that there are a couple of instances which could have led to the punitive measures.
Some of those who were around when Dyrus spoke the words that got him banned knew that what he was saying was nothing more than an off-color joke. One fan posted a clip of him on Twitter using the global chat to ask people, “Does anyone know where DN is?” He then followed up with, “Deez nuts.” It would seem most people could agree that even if some found that inappropriate, it’s hard to draw the line to it being abusive.
However, it’s possible the streamer posting in global chat might have been an issue due to an entirely different exchange. Another follower said the situation came about when he was using what appeared to be actually abusive terms in the New World chat. The user claimed Dyrus was calling other players the “r word.” It was said the streamer likely thought the chat would automatically censor that particular word but it didn’t.
New World is available now on PC.
