The success that New World is currently experiencing may seem surprising for some of the members of the gaming community, especially in a space dominated by other long-standing titles like World of Warcraft or Final Fantasy 14. However, with New World at the top of Steam charts as one of the platform’s most played video games, this shows that there is something within the title that makes its players keep on logging on. It is possible that little things like these funny glitches contribute to the overall appeal of the MMO.

On Reddit, user Jack1k97 shared a short video showcasing the new bug that they found in New World. In the footage, their in-game map was open, and they showed their mouse cursor quickly going back and forth on top of the map’s icons. As the cursor continues to move forward and backward, the icon grows obviously bigger than the rest of the icons on the map. The Redditor showcased this several times, even growing the bear cave icon exponentially bigger that it covers up a whole area on the map. With many players already concerned about quality-of-life improvements on the New World map, this bug seems like another issue to add to the roster.

While some of the comments on the subReddit made adult-rated fun of the bug, others were more concerned about the quality assurance testing of the MMO. Those with coding experience noted that the glitch is also prevalent in other codes of the game, making New World buggy as a whole. Given that the title was heavily rushed to make its launch date, issues and glitches like these are likely to pop up frequently.

Nevertheless, it has been one month since its launch, and New World continues to be patronized by fans around the world. Hopefully the development team will keep working hard to address these hilarious yet important issues, as these are keys to providing a better gaming experience for their whole community.

New World is currently available for PC.
