Within a few hours of its launch, New World went on to become one of the most played games on Steam. However, the game failed to retain its user base and has lost the majority of its player base in the last few months.

One of the main reasons why gamers suddenly lost interest is because of bugs and glitches making it unplayable. Many recently complained about the chat being broken after Outpost Rush and the Baetylus Headpiece quest not progressing.

And as if this wasn’t enough, New World players are now reporting (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) that the new weapon swap mechanic is bugged.

As it turns out, abilities are instantly queuing up after swapping weapons, even when on cooldown.

The issue seems to be frustrating a lot of competitive players engaged in Pvp combat since it is extremely disruptive. Some say it has completely ruined the combat system.

Fortunately, New World developers have acknowledged the weapon swap issue and said they are working to resolve it. However, there is no ETA on when it might be fixed.
