Nicolas Cage, who is 58 years old, has announced that he and his wife Riko Shibata, 27, are expecting their first child together.
On Thursday, April 12th, the Hollywood actor announced the good news on The Kelly Clarkson Show, saying, “I’m going to have a little girl.”
He went on to say that he and his wife Riko have already decided on a name for their first kid.
In honour of the late John Lennon and his late father August ‘Augie’ Coppola, the couple want to give her the moniker Lennon Augie.
Nicolas explained the significance of the names by describing how his father August would listen to The Beatles’ Let It Be album.
He was particularly fond of the song Across The Universe, which left Nicolas “locked, paralysed” when he first heard it on his radio station.
He went on to say that it’s his “favourite song ever written.”
“Because of Across The Universe, her name is going to be Lennon Augie, Augie after my father,” Nicolas explained.
He went on to say about having a baby girl: “I’m overjoyed. It’ll be the most exciting adventure of my life “..
Nicolas is already a parent to two grown children, Weston, 31, and Kal-El, 16, whom he shares with former Christina Fulton.
In January of this year, he announced that he was expecting his third kid.
Nicolas and Riko met through mutual friends in Japan in 2020 while he was on location filming Prisoners of the Ghostland.
In the Sion Sono film, Riko played one of the four Mannequin Women.
The couple got engaged over FaceTime and married in February 2021 at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas.
Following his previous failed marriages to Patricia Arquette, Lisa Marie Presley, Alice, and Erika Koike, Riko and Nicolas’ wedding was his fifth walk down the aisle.
