During Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase, Dotemu showcased some gameplay for Metal Slug Tactics. The game is going to be a grid-based tactical adaptation of the run-and-gun gameplay brought by the series. The game is going to be releasing in 2022 alongside the previously announced PC version. The announcement brought new footage of frontline powerhouses Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma rolling out to battle from a headquarters packed with nods to the long-running series’ history....

MGM (Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer) is one of the best known film companies in America, with a host of very successful film IPs under its umbrella. Notable franchises include Rocky/Creed and James Bond, which crushed international box offices with No Time to Die. MGM wants to expand its IPs into video games, creating a series of new games based off its most popular titles. The company is already in the process of doing this, but is looking to hire a new interactive games director to kickstart the process....

Xbox platform owner Microsoft recently confirmed its intentions to acquire Call of Duty and World of Warcraft publisher Activision Blizzard. During this year’s edition of Minecraft Lives, Mojang Studios revealed the new release window for Minecraft Legends, the action strategy game first announced at the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase this Summer. Minecraft Legends will be released in Spring 2023 for PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. Mushoku Tensei has taken the anime community by storm. Only a few months after the 1st season’s conclusion, the 2nd season of Mushoku Tensei has been announced. The new season will start by adapting the 7th light novel in the series and will likely continue up until the 12th novel. Space opera manga series The Knights of Sidonia, written by Tsutomu Nihei, first appeared serialized in a Japanese magazine beginning in 2009. The series was first made into an anime show in 2014 with a subsequent season in 2015, both airing on Netflix as well as Japanese platforms. If you’ve been waiting for all three SNES Donkey Kong Nation games to be played before you pick up a Turn, you’re lucky. Nintendo has announced its intention to acquire long-time Japanese programming support studio SRD Co. The acquisition news was announced through an official notification earlier today. “The acquisition will serve to strengthen the management and secure availability of software development resources for Nintendo, in addition to facilitating an anticipated improvement in software development efficiency”, Nintendo writes. On Friday, A feature of cab booking company, Uber called “upfront fares” will show drivers exactly how much they’ll be paid for a trip and where they’ll end up after dropping a rider off. The company says the change is part of its push to make driving for the rideshare service more flexible.
